Reykjavik Cathedral at Night
$200.00
Reykjavik Cathedral or the Hallgrimskirka, as it is called in Iceland, took 42 years to build, from 1945 to 1986. The architect, Guojon Samuelson, said that the columns on the side of the main tower are meant to represent Icelandic volcanic basalt rock that was instantly petrified after its molten lava met the frigid Atlantic Ocean. Our picture was taken with a Canon R5 mounted with an RF 15 to 35 mm lens, at f/11 and at 25 seconds. Later, Dickon Pownall-Gray corrected, in post production, the perspective distortion caused by the wide angle lens so as to correctly display the beauty of the Reykjavik Cathedral at night.
