Eileen Donan Castle at Night

The Eileen Donan Castle's main fortifications were likely built around 1230 and may have sheltered Scotland's national hero, Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland from 1306 to 1329, from the English invasion of Scotland during the winter of 1306. The Eileen Donan Castle is built on a small island linked by a causeway to the mainland. Its strategic importance lies in the that it is located at the confluence of three tidal sea lochs, Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Aish. Our night picture was taken after midnight, under a full moon, from the western side of the Castle using an R5 Canon Camera, an RF 28 to 70mm 2.0 lens, at f/9.0 on a long exposure of 25 seconds, on a Peak Design Tripod.
